Resources

Our Resources page is a combination of definitions, tips, how-to hints, and links to the resources that we’ve found most valuable in developing an internet based business. This directory is in alphabetical order with links to pages with more details, or you may use the search box at the top of the page.

We are affiliates for some of the products discussed and may receive a small commission if you click one of our links to purchase. Some of the tools listed we may not have used but are recommended by other industry leaders.

If you have questions, please feel free to go to our Contact page and send us a message. We will do our best to find an answer.

Affiliates- Affiliates are internet marketers who place advertisements on their blogs or websites for products offered by others in exchange for a small commission. We will tell you if we are affiliates for a product that we use and/or recommend. For more details, visit our Affiliates page here.

Audio/MP3- MP3 is the type file most often used for internet audio (sound). WordPress offers a number of plug-ins to facilitate the addition of sound to your posts or pages. For more information including links, visit our Audio/MP3 page here.

Autoresponder- An autoresponder is without a doubt the most important tool you will use for internet marketing; it starts with the form that your prospect fills out on your page, goes to a series (one or more) of e-mails that provide more information about your product, and calls your prospect to action. Our Autoresponder page has a wealth of information about the autoresponder we use as well as links to other popular platforms.

Back-Ups - Regular back ups of your computer data are vital to the health of your online business. My favorite back up tool is BackBlaze….click here for complete information.

Banner Ads- Banner ads are graphics that are placed on a web page; when a viewer clicks on the ad, a link takes them to a web-page for the product/service/offer shown in the ad. For a discussion of how to use banner ads, and some samples, visit our Banner Ads page here.

Banner Exchanges- Banner Exchanges are systems that enable you to ‘trade’ placement of your banner ad (for your product) on other sites in exchange for someone else’s ad that you place on your site. The exchanges may be ‘paid’, that is you pay for each placement, or use a ratio, usually 3:2 or 3:1 (you show 3 ads on your site, get your ad placed 1 or 2 times on other sites). Our Banner Exchange page has reviews of some of the popular banner exchanges sites and more information about when/how you might choose to use them.

Blogging- The term blogging originated from ‘web log’, that is a series of ‘posts’ or messages generated usually by one person and published/distributed to other people for informational purposes. Blogging is considered an essential part of your internet business marketing skills. On our Blogging page, you will find information about various blogging platforms, plug-ins, and other materials that will get you started with your own blog.

BranchOut- BranchOut is Facebook’s version of ‘LinkedIn’ complete with job listing, personal recommendations from associates or peers. See our BranchOut page for instructions on getting started with BranchOut in your Facebook account.

Click Exchanges- Click Exchanges are membership sites in which everyone lists their blogs/websites and then each ‘earns’ clicks from other members by ‘clicking’ on those members sites. Unless you are looking for a specific number of clicks such as the 25 ‘likes’ needed for Facebook Fan Pages, the chances of one of these clickers turning into a valid lead are slim to none. If you paid for the membership, a Click Exchange could be a real loser.

Computer Back Up - If you are not backing up your computer on a regular basis, you could lose your entire business without notice…recovering information from a ‘fried’ hard-drive is extremely expensive. Check out my favorite back up tool here.
